The files in this subdirectory ("pub/ndp037/IBSNAT") provide data for a number of parameters, including all of the carbon dioxide enrichment response measurements, plus daily weather, soil profile properties (e.g., initial soil moisture and nitrogen conditions), and irrigation and fertilizer treatments. The file structures of these data conform to the International Benchmark Sites of Agrotechnology Transfer (IBSNAT) standards, developed in 1986 by plant growth modelers for crop model input and output files. Persons interested in using these IBSNAT-formatted data files are advised to consult "suppl.wp," a Word Perfect 5.1 file provided in the subdirectory "pub/ndp037" and also included as part of the written documentation of NDP037, available upon request from CDIAC. This supplemental text provides detailed descriptions of the contents and formats of the IBSNAT-formatted data files. Within this subdirectory ("pub/ndp037/IBSNAT"), the IBSNAT- formatted data files are provided in subdirectories denoting the experiment year (i.e., "pub/ndp037/IBSNAT/1983," "../IBSNAT/1984," "../IBSNAT/1985," ".. /IBSNAT/1986," and "../IBSNAT/1987"). An additional subdirectory, "pub/ndp037/IBSNAT/retrieval," provides a FORTRAN retrieval code ("retrvl.for") developed by G. W. Wall and M. L. Reaves (U.S. Water Conservation Laboratory, Phoenix) to facilitate use of these data. The subdirectory "pub/ndp037/IBSNAT/ retrieval" also includes a "readme" file that explains the use of the retrieval code.
